On the evening of November 6 and 7 protests “No bloody occupation!” were held near the Georgian parliament. They were announced in connection with the murder of Tamaz Ginturi near the occupation line.
In Gori, and then in Kirbali, they said goodbye to Tamaz Ginturi, who was killed by the Russian military on November 6, after visiting the Lomisa church.
Until 2018, Lomisa Church was open to the local Georgian population. But then the border detachments of the FSB of the Russian Federation appeared, declared that this was the territory of South Ossetia,
and closed the entrance to the local population.
In August of this year, Russian troops boarded up the doors of the temple and filled them with foam.
On November 6, Tamaz Ginturi, after visiting the grave of his parents, went up to the temple to light candles. He and fellow villager Levan Dotiashvili opened the doors of the temple.
When they were already getting into the car, they were noticed by the Russian military, Ginturi was shot, Dotiashvili was beaten and detained.
On November 11, the body of Tamaz Ginturi was interred in his native village, 500 meters from the Lomisa temple.
