On the evenings of November 6 and 7, protests titled "No Bloody Occupation!" were held near the Georgian parliament.

The demonstrations were organized in response to the murder of Tamaz Ginturi near the occupation line.

In Gori, and later in Kirbali, people paid their final respects to Tamaz Ginturi, who was killed by the Russian military on November 6 after visiting the Lomisa Church.

Until 2018, Lomisa Church was accessible to the local Georgian population. However, border units of the FSB of the Russian Federation later appeared, claimed the territory as part of South Ossetia, and restricted access to the site for local residents. In August of this year, Russian forces boarded up the church doors and sealed them with foam.

On November 6, after visiting his parents' graves, Tamaz Ginturi went to the church to light candles. Along with a fellow villager, Levan Dotiashvili, he opened the doors of the church. As they were returning to their car, they were spotted by Russian military personnel. Ginturi was shot and killed, while Dotiashvili was beaten and detained.

On November 11, Tamaz Ginturi was laid to rest in his native village, located 500 meters from the Lomisa Church.
